Parents nowadays are so busy that they find it hard to find time for their child, let alone throw that child a party. Here are some helpful hints for a successful Halloween Party for children.

Haunted House: Do not make it too scary, especially for the younger children. They might not want to come to your house. However, if you do want a haunted house there are several ways in which you can incorporate that into your party. Arrange a time for the kids to arrive at your party and remind them not to come any earlier. When they arrive they will enter through the haunted castle that used to be your home. You may want to warn both kids and parents about this ahead of time so that they are prepared.

You can ask other family members and friends if they could help out during this event. The other option is to let all the children help out as well. They can take turns handing out candies during Halloween.

Supplies needed: Spooky music and sound effects, eerie decorations like peeled grapes for eyeballs, sausages for intestines and fake blood. You can request that the children and adults participating dress for the occasion.

Bobbing for apples: One traditional game for Halloween is to have a bushel of apples floating in water. Each participant tries to dunk his or her head in the water. Since there is nothing spooky about this, even young children can play this game.

Pie-eating contest: Two kids dig their faces in a pie looking for a jelly worm. The winner gets a prize.

Safe trick-or-treat: Instead of allowing your kids to do the rounds outside for tricks-or-treat, get together with some other adults and have each one stand at a different game station. Offer some candies to each child who comes to play at the station.

There are other types of parties for people who do not celebrate Halloween. For example, some churches have carnival-like games set up for children and they call it a harvest festival. This usually takes place around Halloween time.

Remember to prepare some food for the Halloween or harvest party. You can make different shaped cookies, such as those made in the shape of a pumpkin with a face on it. A bowl of green slime punch, a cake decorated with gummy worms or the décor made to look like a graveyard adds to the ambience.

Other cheap ways to decorate your house will be spiders made from a garbage page, ghosts made from toilet tissue and /or sheets, scarecrow made with clothes and rags, fake spiders with web yarn and other fake spiders and other bugs.

For additional ideas for your Halloween party, visit a Halloween novelty store. Improvise and make your own if items come too pricey. All these ideas will help you to throw a successful Halloween party for children.
