Decorating your home with decorative boxes, bowls and containers not only adds decoration, but function. Here are some ideas how to conceal items and add beauty to rooms of the house.
Kitchen
Many of us don’t have much space on our kitchen counters, but we do have a lot of clutter that accumulates in the kitchen. Depending on the amount of space, you can use the decorative boxes to store the important things you use most often, and yet the box will add decoration to the room. There are many design styles in boxes, from very ornate to contemporary in design style. Ideas on how to use these storage devices are to store your keys, scissors, tape, pencils, pens, address books, office supplies, etc. Some people have space above their cabinets in the kitchen. Tall glass containers or tall vase like containers can be used as accents in the kitchen and filled with decorations that bring out a needed color. You can theme decorate, like adding Christmas ornaments in colors to match your room. Add flowers or colorful fruit. Some of these boxes or containers are not see through and therefore can be arranged as a grouping. Different sized boxes can also be placed together in threes and contain items that you don’t get into often but need a place for storage. The footed round shallow bowls can be found in many styles, from country design to modern and in just about any color. The bowl placed in the middle of the kitchen table may be the focus point of entire room decoration. Choosing this item depends on the design of your kitchen or dining room. Using these bowls to display fresh fruit, oranges covered in clover spices, gourds, pumpkins, nuts with shells are just a few ideas.
Bathroom
Cylindrical glass containers, or decorative kinds of boxes can be the solution to storing your cotton balls, Q-tips, and toiletries. Some of these decorative containers come in a set of three on a tray in various sizes to store your items. If decorating in a box style, choose the size of box and details according to your room. You can also open it up to show your bathroom items such as washcloths, hand towels, towels. Decorative open boxes can also show off your themed decorations such as shells, starfish, perfume bottles and more.
Hiding Other Items
Often, people don’t know what to put on their coffee table, sofa tables or shelves. There is such an abundance of beautiful ornate boxes, why not use them for both beauty and function. Hiding things such as your gift-wrapping supplies such as ribbons, bows, tape and scissors. Also it’s a great place for your favorite sewing needs.
