We all have our special colors, favorite brands, and
can’t live without items that we feel make our lives
extra special. When lifetime events come around,
or the holidays, gifts are usually in order. Many times
the “giver” is not really sure what would make their
gift stand out and be the memory making item that will
be remembered and treasured.
Gift cards are always a safe solution to a very perplexing
problem. Not knowing the lilkes and dislikes of the
person as only they know themselves, or wanting to
give them the opportunity to pick and choose is what
gift cards are made for. Many times going to a special
store is out of the budget but with a gift card – well the
possibilities are right there in their hand.
It is also important the way a gift card is presented. You
certainly don’t want to just hand it – open and glaring in
the sun. Many people put them in cards, or add them to
letters – great. Some even give a gift with the gift card.
A little bear bearing the card, hanging on the tree with
an ornament meant for the recipient, or even in a
basket made up with “goodies” that will make the day
even better. For a man, it could be tied to the end of a
fishing pole or car gadget; for a woman, enclosed is a
right smart evening bag or catch-all; for a teen – well,
hot colors, hot tunes, you have your pick. Even the
smallest of little ones can enjoy riding in that shopping
cart and looking at the aisles of goodies. This time,
with that gift card in mom/dad’s pocket, “No, put that
back” may just not be an option.
Gift cards are not as impersonal as they used to be.
You can choose theme scenes or colors, favorite sport
teams, or even personalize with a picture of a pet or
scene from a cherished vacation spot. Times have
changed and gift cards are a very modern way to “give
the gift that keeps on giving.” Once an item is purchased,
your thoughtfulness and kindness will be remembered.
You are the person of the hour – you made a special day
even more special. Enjoy the sunshine and the pleasure
of knowing you are terrific.
